Glass fiber paper

Conductive glass fiber can also be made of fiberglass paper. For example, a Japanese company uses a metal-coated glass fiber yarn having a diameter of 2 μm and a length of 100 μm to make a conductive glass fiber paper. Due to the short length of the fiber, the glass fiber can not be coated with metal using conventional vapor deposition, flame spraying, and the like. The company uses bubbling catalytic wet plating technology to coat the glass fiber surface with a uniform thin metal layer. The prepared glass fiber paper has good electrical conductivity, for example, the volume resistivity of nickel-plated glass fiber paper reaches 0.1 Ω•cm. This conductive fiberglass paper can be composited with resin to make an electromagnetic shielding material.
