The First Affiliated Middle School of Huazhong Normal University is a famous key middle school in China and the only window school named by the Hubei Provincial Government. The predecessor of the school, Zhongnan Experimental Workers and Peasants Quick Middle School, was founded in September 1950. In 1955, it was renamed the First High School Attached to Huazhong Normal University. Former President Li Xiannian wrote the school name for the school. In 1997, it was rated as a provincial model school. In 2005, the school was relocated to a new campus (No. 1 Tangxunhu North Road, East Lake Development Zone, Wuhan). In October 2005, it passed the re-evaluation of Hubei Model School.
