Digital fluorescence oscilloscope interpretation

The Digital Phosphor Oscilloscope (DPO) adds a new class to the oscilloscope family that displays, stores, and analyzes the three-dimensional signal information of complex signals in real time: amplitude, time, and amplitude distribution over time.

DSO uses a serial processing architecture to capture, display, and analyze signals; relatively speaking, DPO uses a parallel architecture to accomplish these functions, as shown in Figures 1 and 2. Parallel architecture and ASIC-based hardware-based processing technology enable digital phosphor oscilloscopes to capture all the details and anomalies in today's complex dynamic signals and display them at the human eye's acceptance rate.

Ordinary digital oscilloscopes need to use long-term recording to observe sporadic events, and then perform signal processing. This method will miss the non-periodic signal and the dynamic characteristics of the signal. Digital phosphor oscilloscopes are capable of displaying subtle differences in complex waveforms and how often they occur. For example, observing television signals, including line scans, frame scans, video signals and audio signals, as well as recording anomalies in television signals, is equally important to professionals and maintenance personnel.

For example, TEK's TDS3000 series of digital phosphor oscilloscopes offer a variety of test modules that can be inserted into the top right corner of the front panel. For example, the trigger module can be used for logic state, logic graphic triggering, and pulse parameters (rising, falling edge, width, period, etc.); the TV module is dedicated to multi-standard (NTSC, PAL, and SECAM) waveform recording; fast Fourier transform The (FFT) module quickly displays the frequency components and spectral distribution of the signal, analyzing both the impulse response and the harmonic distribution, as well as identifying and locating sources of noise and interference. There are also advanced analysis modules and limit test modules.

The TDS3000 Series oscilloscopes are portable and weigh less than 7 pounds and are battery powered, making them ideal for field use.
