Calibration of Display During Color Management (2)

4. Before using, you need to perform initial calibration of the Eye-one Display screen colorimeter. Place the Eye-one Display on a solid black surface (or cover the Eye-one Display's light-sensitive area with the supplied black lid). Be careful not to light, and then tap the Calibrate button on the screen. The software will automatically calibrate. After the calibration is successful, the screen will show "Eye-one celibration was successful" and the arrow to the right is activated, allowing you to proceed to the next step. The calibration of the instrument is very important. It is equivalent to the choice of the time base for measuring height, the base point is inaccurate, and the accuracy of the measurement cannot be discussed. Make sure that no light enters the instrument's light-sensing area during calibration.

5. Next determine the color temperature and gamma, white point (Witepoint) settings to determine the display color temperature, select the color temperature of the screen represents the highest brightness, the general choice of medium color temperature 6500 is more appropriate. For Windows systems, the standard gamma value is 2.2; for Mac systems, the standard gamma value is 1.8.

6. Now we need to put the Eye-one Display on the screen. Eye-one Display's photometric area is covered with a small suction cup, which can be firmly adsorbed on the screen surface. When placed, it must be sucked in firmly to prevent external light from entering the light-sensing area. For liquid crystal displays that are not easy to suck, use the weights on the Eye-one connection to hang it on the screen surface.

7. The first thing to calibrate is the contrast of the monitor. To adjust the contrast to the highest (100%), click the "Start" button. The program automatically searches for and locks the position of the instrument on the screen. After the instrument is locked, the program will detect the contrast range of the monitor. If appropriate, the green arrow will be aligned with the black arrow. Otherwise, the contrast of the monitor needs to be manually adjusted.

8. Then calibrate the brightness of the monitor. Follow the on-screen instructions to first adjust the brightness to zero. Click the "Start" button to start the calibration. When adjusting the brightness, be sure to adjust it little by little. It is best to adjust 1% per second. If the adjustment is too fast, the change of the temperature of the display filament cannot keep up with the change of the value, and it cannot be truly calibrated.

During the calibration process, the screen will gradually prompt to adjust the brightness value until the green arrow on the ruler is aligned with the black arrow.
