Torras Papel, Spain replaces old wrapping system with Voith's innovative Twister

Torras Papel SA of Spain is replacing the existing old winder with an innovative system, Voith's “Twister 2 Line Automatic”. On this Twister, all the stations are built on a continuous chain conveyor, so that the rolls can be “wrapped” for packaging. This eliminates the usual vibrations and makes the system work particularly smoothly. The Twister is based on a sophisticated spiral wound system and is equipped with two industrial robots to seal the head paper and label the operation.

This order was issued after the company’s performance visit to a major paper mill in Europe. In this paper mill, "Twister 2 Line Automatic" showed the best results: the mechanical design was reasonable; the quality of the packaging was always excellent and it looked like it.

This new device is used to pack rolls of 350 to 2400 mm in width and 700 to 1600 mm in diameter—60 rolls per hour. This "Twister 2 Line Automatic" plan was installed and started in January 2005.
