Cautions when using adhesives:
1. Storage period
a. Each product has a storage period. According to international standards and domestic standards, the storage period refers to the room temperature (24°C). Acrylic adhesives are 20°C.
b. For acrylic products, the higher the temperature, the shorter the storage period.
c. For water-based products such as temperatures below -1°C, directly affect product quality.
2. strength:
a. There is no all-purpose adhesive in the world. Different adherends are best used for special adhesives.
b. The strength of the adherend itself is low, so it is not necessary to use high-strength products. Otherwise, it will use more materials and increase costs.
c. It is not possible to emphasize only the high initial strength, but consider that the durability is good.
d. The performance of high temperature curing adhesives is much higher than room temperature curing. If high strength and good durability are required, high temperature curing adhesives should be used.
e. In addition to emergency or small area repair and continuous production of a cyanoacrylate adhesive (502 super glue), it is not suitable for materials requiring high bonding strength.
3. Others
a. White latex and urea-formaldehyde can not be used to stick metal.
b. adhesives that require transparency, can use polyurethane glue, optical epoxy glue, saturated polyester glue, polyvinyl acetal glue.
c. The adhesive should not be corrosive to the adherend. Such as: polystyrene foam board, can not use solvent-type neoprene adhesive.
d. Higher brittle adhesives should not be sticky and soft materials.
4. Notes on the use of adhesives:
a. For the adhesive of the AB component, please match according to the requirements of the specification when mixing.
b. For AB adhesive, be sure to mix well before use. Can't stay dead, otherwise it won't cure.
c. The adherend must be cleaned and there should be no moisture (except for underwater curing glue).
d. In order to achieve high bonding strength, the adherend is polished as far as possible.
e. Adhesion joint design is good or bad, determine the strength of the bond.
f. When the adhesive is used, it must be used immediately. It must not be left for too long. If it is fast curing, it should not exceed 2 minutes.
g. For high strength, fast curing, depending on the conditions of heating, when gluing, should not be too thick, generally 0.5mm is better, the thicker the worse the bonding effect.
h. When bonding an object, it is best to apply pressure or fix it with a jig.
i. In order to make the strength higher, it is better to leave it for 24 hours after bonding.
j. One-component solvent or water formulation, must be mixed evenly when used.
k. For solvent-based products, after gluing, be sure to cool it until it is not sticky. Adhesion is then required.
