Recycled PET nonwoven

The current industrialized products are spunbond non-woven PET spunbond non-woven and PET melting blown non-woven. It can be used for filtration, absorbents and camp facilities. A new use of PET nonwovens is to replace conventional thermoset urethane rubber foam for vehicle seats. According to Dupont’s report from the United States, this polyester seat can save 20% to 30% of weight and is easy to recycle.

Polyester filaments for textiles can be used to weave uniforms and industrial fabrics.

Differentiated High Quality Polyester Staple Fibers These mainly refer to fibers with a diameter of 1 to 200 D and a length of 5 to 150 mm. Recycled PET is mainly used to make 6D or more fibers, which are usually not dyeable. Although those fibers larger than 6D are widely used, 1~3D fibers occupy the main market of PET fibers, which are usually used in the clothing industry. Profiled cross-section fibers, such as triangular cross sections, are used for carpets.

The ES fiber core is recycled PET and the skin is PP or low melting point PET. This is a relatively large potential market.

Packaging area
PET bottles use slices for bottle-to-bottle technology, food and non-food grades. It is processed directly into PET bottles of grade A using waste PET bottles.

Multi-layer PET beverage bottle It is a three-layer sandwich process with a middle layer of recycled PET and FDA-required 0.025mm Class A PET on both sides. HUSKY has developed this equipment.

A-PET Sheets PET cast sheets are used to produce packaging materials that are in direct contact with food, such as drinking water cups, soft food trays, and the like. Recycling PET Bottles Made from Beverage Bottles The packaging trays made of PET are bright and have a high impact strength and tensile strength. Recycling PET from beverage bottles can be processed into a scoop, and Procter Gamble (USA) has produced some products.

Films PET films containing recycled PET have been produced under the registered trademark ECOTM (ICI Films, Wilmington, USA). The ECO813G film contains 25% recycled PET and has been approved by the FDA for use in food contact applications.

Composite Extrusion Multilayer Membrane In North America and Europe, a thermoformed food packaging tray is now in production. The outer layer is pure PET and the inner layer contains a certain amount of recycled PET.

Non-contact food containers If performance permits, single-layer PET bottles can be made with 100% recycled PET, and can also be made with recycled PET and pure PET. This product is mainly used as a detergent and daily necessities.

The PET straps with PET have high toughness and can replace steel strips, with IV values ​​in the range of 0.78-1.10 dl/g.

C-PET slice It is short for crystalline PET. It is mainly used for the production of food trays that can be placed in a microwave oven. It can withstand high temperatures when the oven is heated, and can withstand very low temperatures when stored in the refrigerator.

PET used in other engineering plastics is reinforced with fillers such as glass fibers, and its injection parts can be used in automobiles, home appliances and calculators. Usually used for this purpose are high-quality plastics that require dyeing and filling, so green recycled PET bottles can be used for this purpose.

Dupont produces a series of commercial recycled PET resins under the trademark Rynite, which is 100% regrind and is mainly used for exterior parts, headlamps, accessories, structural frames, etc. Dupont also produces a low-cost recycled PET with a registered trademark of Nupet, which comes from consumer and factory-used materials such as X-ray device accessories and printed films. UTC also owns PetraTM, a 100% recycled PET product that can be used in cars, lawns, gardens, and power tools.

Engineered polymers can also be made by blending recycled PET with recycled PC (from water bottles). This material combines the strength, toughness, and solvent resistance of PET to make it have similar properties to ABS. Adding impact modifier to the blend can improve the impact strength of the material after annealing. Commercially available automotive wheel covers have been produced using 50% recycled PET and 50% PCs such as StanuloyTM (MRC Polymers).

Ultra-short fiber Cuts fibers with a length of less than 3mm and is used for the manufacture of high-grade paper (such as coin-making paper) and cement pavement reinforcement.

Large Molded Products Recycling PET can be used to make large injection molded pallets due to its higher flexural strength than polyolefins. Compared with PE molded parts, the PET molded pallets are much heavier and the bending strength of PET is about twice that of HDPE. Remaplan has designed a solution that uses recycled bottles to make pallets, and uses modifiers to improve the brittleness of PET without affecting the bending performance.

Wood-plastic composite material It is made of 70% wood chips or rice stem plus 30% recycled PET or PVC, and is made into a profile by a mixed extrusion method. Because the material combines the characteristics of wood and plastic, its products are widely used in indoor and outdoor decorative materials and trays to replace wood. Recently, the United States has also emerged a new technology for manufacturing top poles directly from waste PET bottles, which is used to reinforce the top pillars in coal mines and other mine roadways.
