This thing must be really poisonous, and it is troublesome.
I also very much hope that I can send a rumor sticker to tell everyone that all the racetracks are safe. Unfortunately, the facts are very cruel. In reality, many materials used in plastic runways and courts are not so environmentally friendly. Then, How can we judge quickly? After several senior industry practitioners' advice and combined with personal experience, we have probably summed up a set of methods to judge whether the runway is poisonous—in short, it is “look, smell, ask, and cutâ€.
One, hope, is very simple, just look. A closer look at the surface texture of the track is shown in Figure A below, or in Figure B:
If it is picture A: Congratulations, this runway is environmentally friendly and non-toxic. Because of the runway with such lines, it is not the potentially toxic polyplastic runway reported in the news, but rather a prefabricated rubber runway. Although there is a plastic word, the two runways are completely different, and the material of the prefabricated rubber track is natural rubber. Environmentally friendly inorganic materials, environmentally-friendly toners, and so on, are produced as a roll of elastic coiled material on the factory's production lines. All raw materials are safe and non-toxic. This type of runway is safe and non-toxic.
The Olympic Games, the Asian Games, the National Games, and the Beijing Bird's Nest all use prefabricated rubber tracks. Not to mention being too tall and unfriendly, many elementary and middle schools are also using them, and they are safe and secure.
If it's picture B: Please be alert, this should be a polyurethane plastic runway similar to the toxic runway reported in the news. The light cannot be judged to be toxic by appearance, but please remember that the newer polyurethane plastic track is toxic. The more likely it is. Please continue to the next step.
Second, the smell, but also very simple, is close to the surface of the runway, smell the smell emitted from the runway

To put it simply, there are obvious pungent odors that can be judged to be toxic, and those with slight odors have to withstand the tests later.
Reason: All polyurethane runways are made of polyurethane glue + rubber particles. Polyurethane glue's main raw material is polyether polyol, TDI, MDI, plasticizer and various organic solvents and so on. In a word, these things are basically both odor and toxic.
If the manufacturers have conscience and the production technology is enough for cattle, these poisonous and odorous substances can be turned into non-toxic and odorless glue through chemical reaction, and then no toxic and odorous organic solvents are added during the construction. Then the finished polyurethane plastic runway Can be considered non-toxic and odorless.
If the manufacturers have conscience but the production technology is not feasible, then these toxic and odorous things will not react completely, there are still many toxic and odorous residues in the glue, then the finished polyurethane plastic track must also be toxic and odorous.
If manufacturers have no conscience, let alone stinky stink and toxic poisons.
Third, ask, ask what? Qualification, asked the report, asked the material, asked the construction, one item to understand.
To learn about the relevant qualification data and test report of the plastic runway, you can directly ask the school or the construction unit to provide it. As the acceptance of the plastic runway is completed, the contractor (ie the construction company) needs to provide relevant qualifications to the school or the construction unit and the supervision unit. Data and test reports.
Qualification - Who is the authority on the runway? Naturally, the IAAF and the China Association of Fields, people are the management of track and field, runway. Sufficient excellent runway products generally have the IAAF runway product certification, or the China Field Association's runway product certification. Q Report - The plastic runway products have national standards, and there are more than one. The national standards GB/T14833-2011 and GB/T22517.6-2011 all have provisions on the physical properties and chemical composition of the runway. Regular runway products produced by the company have annual inspection reports. Ask whether your runway construction company has any problems, whether it is uneven or not, and whether there is any authority to test the seal of the unit.
Q. Material - The runway material is not produced by the original manufacturer. Is it produced by the same manufacturer? This year, there is a lot of dog meat sold, but it is not afraid. Now the information is unimpeded, and the contact information of the material manufacturers is well found. Mail can confirm.
Q. Construction - Does the construction team have qualifications, experience, and similar projects? The construction of the runway is a technical task. It is not clear that a team can be drawn.
Fourth, cut, the ultimate means, cut a piece sent for testing.

Speaking of TDI, there are many nonsense words here. Now many related news experts have come up with rumors that the monomer TDI is toxic, and that the plastic track inside is a polymer, and it's nothing to say. It also said that it was after many arguments. Can only hehe, 13 years ago, the content of free TDI did not stipulate the national standard, but generally is required to be below 0.7%, 13 years after the introduction of the new national standard, requires free TDI is lower than 0.2g/Kg, but can actually achieve Why? JR has spare time to check the "TDI polyurethane plastic track gas chromatography - mass spectrometry analysis", which can be clearly measured TDI monomer content of more than 3% ... ...
As for other toxic gases, don’t be misled by the content of many reports. What experts say is that there is no national standard and there is no test method. Really? Ask the students of the chemistry department, no matter what kind of samples, in a closed cabin. It will be difficult to detect toxic organic gases that have escaped the air in a few days. It is not difficult to detect micrograms (one millionth of a millionth) using current detection methods, as long as you have requirements.
The report texture of the VOC test with a similar material attached below is to place the sample in a closed cubic meter space for three days and take an air sample. The measured total volatile organic content is 541.8 micrograms (0.0005418 g)/cubic meter. Various other compounds can also be quantitatively analyzed. It's not too obvious to see that it doesn't matter, as long as you understand that there are indeed ways to detect it.
If you want to be more advanced, you can sample directly as mass spectrometry as you did in the previous article, whether it be toxic monomeric TDI or plasticizer.
Therefore, regardless of whether there is odor in the polyurethane plastic runway, the ultimate means of proof is on the scene, remember to be on the scene, at the scene cut down a runway (usually 30cm × 30cm) sent to a competent place to detect. There is no point in sending a specially prepared sample. In addition to the prefabricated rubber track, the on-site polyurethane plastic runway and the sample are completely different.
Class A runway case
1. This is not a good thing for the cinder track. The plastic runway will still play a role in sports protection. The effect in this regard is still quite obvious. If it is adulterated, the coal slag runway will be able to remove the toxicity. It is not so good. Where do you go? .
2. Figure A This type of prefabricated rubber track is not as good as the popularity of B. One is that the threshold is high, production is difficult, and the second is relatively expensive in China. This is because the export price difference is also about 20%-30%, but there are too many manufacturers of polyurethane track in China's Class B. The quality is getting worse. . .
It is easy to distinguish between prefabricated runways and polyurethane plastic runways. The former is non-toxic and the latter may be toxic.
Smell, basically toxic with a pungent odor, the old odorless runway is basically okay, the new runway is to be determined.
Asked, the finer the question, the less opaque and the irreconcilable information is the breeding ground for darkness.
